Day 19 - Wed - 10/15/2025 - At sea to Vigo

Once again we woke up in the dark just after 7am in order to attend the interdenominational Bible study.  Breakfast followed and Pauline made an unusual PA announcement that elevator technicians joined the ship yesterday and resolving the elevator problems was a top priority.  We primarily use the aft elevators and two of those have been out of service the entire cruise so far.  I don't know about the other two sets of elevators as we don't rely on them.

Franz Schneider gave his presentation on the history of jet airplanes.  It was an interesting presentation.  Later in the day in O'Malley's, he presented a show concerning  the four first cruise ships that he sailed on.  It was really interesting but the venue is a tough one to get good seating at.

As a last minute change to our dinner plans we  snagged a 5pm reservation in Steamers which is a popup restaurant on the aft port side every other day.  Its cuisine is seafood and we were really impressed with our meal.  Angela had the Caesar salad starter, main course of the mussel, scallops, green beans, corn and sausage stew served in a curry sauce (2 other sauce options were available), and key lime in a cup).  I had the same thing except I had clam chowder instead of salad.   This was $14.99 plus 18% gratuity.  Both of us ordered a snow crab and lobster supplement for $10 plus 18% gratuity.  Next time we'll just order one order and supplement and split it as the portions are very generous.  We'll likely go back before the end of the cruise.  Alternating with Steamers is Planks which is a southern BBQ and the seating is on the starboard side. We're planning to try it as well.

Ceviche Appetizer

After dinner we tried to attend the 7:30pm Princess Theater cast of singers and dancers performance of Magic To Do.  But the theater was filled by 7pm, so we returned to the stateroom and gathered up our dirty laundry and did laundry.  I ended up watching over it and hung it up to dry in our stateroom and then went to the theater and was able to get our customary seats.  Angela joined me after her karaoke session.  The theater was once again packed at 9:30,  This show is one of four that are curated by Steven Schwartz, composer of Wicked and Pippin among others.  It's a fantastic show with magic dispersed throughout the show.  We even had our magician on board, Erik Bryan be a cast member in the show.  We've been told that we get to see two more of these collaborations. Following the show we returned to the room to prepare for our probable short night of sleeping as our Mariners were to be playing a playoff game #3 at 2:08am.
