Day 02 - Sun - 09/28/2025 - At Sea to Trondheim - Day 1

Overnight I slept pretty well, but woke up too late to attend the 8am interdenominational church service.  Angela, however, did get up early and attended it and reported that it was well done and well attended.

After preparing for the day, I went up to the Lido to have my customary breakfast of Congi (rice porridge embellished with onions, ginger, shredded chicken, mushrooms, a fried egg, and two link sausages).  After breakfast found a chair in the little pool area caught up on my blog is this task behind me? It was then time to find some lunch and I was able to locate some really nice barbecue ribs and fruit and chicken wings. Angela then joined me and found some lunch for herself as well.

The only real activity for this day that was the Deal or No Deal game show in the Princess Theatre.   This game show has become quite popular on most cruise ships and the two contestants were a lot of fun to watch. Neither won the thousand dollar grand prize, in fact, the second contestant only won one buck. It's the lowest winning I've ever seen on this game show. The rest of the afternoon  I spent relaxing prone in our state room watching the Minnesota Vikings Pittsburgh Steelers football game, which was being played in Ireland. The Steelers eventually won.

For dinner, we ate in the Lido as is our custom.  After dinner, we watched a Jazz group perform in the Piazza accompanied by many passengers dancing before going to the Princess theater to watch the 7:30pm  entertainment. It was a TRIO called MOBO (Music Of Black Origin).  They were very good. Afterwards, I adjourned back to the room to watch on my phone using a VPN the Seattle Mariners final baseball game on the regular season. Unfortunately, they lost to the Dodgers, but they are still in the playoffs and we play at home next Saturday.

I should comment on the daily schedule on this Princess cruise. During the day most of the activities are related to sales or promotional events by the various vendors on board.  These can be art auctions, jewelry or shopping presentations, spa promotions, and the like.  These are of no interest to us and we miss the enrichment lectures that are found on Holland America ships. But the reason for taking this cruise is the itinerary of doing the many Norway stops and the chance to see the Northern Lights as well as the transatlantic cruise.  It's also a chance for me to rest up after being so sick after our last cruise coming south from Alaska.

We'll have another day and a half at sea before we reach Trondheim at around noon on Tuesday.
